Watching this phenomenal video I am reminded of Steve's huge spirit - the love he had for his beautiful wife and boys. They were his life and though yes, golf was also a big part of it, nothing topped his dedication and love for his family. I remember back to when we were all kids, cousins getting together and having a blast no matter how much time had passed since we saw each other. Times spent on the farm, camping at the Pinery or at our Thomson family reunions. Those dimples have melted many hearts and we all had a soft spot for Steve. We wish you the peace that only time can provide - our hearts are heavy but the great memories will be there forever.
Love,
Li and Kerrie

My memories of Steve are from many years ago at North Lambton where Steve gave 200 percent to everything he tackled. Always that wonderful grin and smile. I especially remember that positive attitude and grit on the volleyball court. I know “ Crunch” will be thinking of the family too.

We first met 48 years ago and you became my first non relative playmate. We went to Aberarder, NLSS and sunday school together. Riding the bus day in and out, even kissing in the younger grades to get our belongings back and playing euchre when older are some of the memories I have. After school and weekends were spent playing sports, hide and seek, swinging on the rope in the barn and other childhood games. Sharing a love for music, we were both columbia house record members and would borrow each others ghetto blasters to record the best songs. In the winter, we would go in search of ice patches for skating and tobogganing hills. We also spent endless hours pulling weeds in your dad's fields while listening to music. Stephen was always supportive, encouraging and a great listener. His smile would light up a room and of course he had those adorable dimples. After high school when we lived miles apart and saw each other rarely, it was like being home and sharing lots of laughs and memories when we would meet up. Tina was the perfect wife for you and I could see the love you shared was special. Your boys have grown to become handsome and successful young men. I always looked forward to seeing your posts on facebook and the comments you would leave on mine. Stephen and Brad both left this life too early but lived it to the fullest, each providing many years of love and memories. Sending my heartfelt condolences to your family. Good bye my friend.. I’m very deeply sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. Steve was a great guy and I considered him a close friend. I truly cherish and remember all the times we had back in Navistar days especially while travelling to Texas and Ohio with the gang. We shared many a good times and helped each other through some tough times as well. He was always positive and always upbeat.
After Navistar closed we made it a point to meet up on the course a few times a year and I’m so glad we did. I will think of him often.
