Ruth Maxine Elliott, a resident of St. Andrew's Residence, Chatham and formerly of Shetland, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham at the age of 88. Born in Chatham, the daughter of the late Effie (Borland) and Archibald McLachlin. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Elliott (2001). Loving mother of Pat Osborne (the late Barry), Sue & Ron Denomy, Alex & Pat Elliott , Mary Elliott & Dean Maidment, Ruth & Stephen Hook, Christine & Greg Elliott. Cherished grandmother of Angela (Jim) McMurren, Jill (Greg) Klein-Geltink, Martin (Lindsay) Osborne, Timothy Northcott (Chantal Potter), Justin Johnson (Destiny Pailey), Alyson Osborne (Robin Gregory), Sarah (Paul) Elliott-MacKellar, Stephanie (Brent) Hartford, Jason (Nicole) Elliott, Brendan (Nina) Maidment, Elliott Maidment, Jennie Hook, Elizabeth Hook and Nicole Hook. Proud great grandmother of Hailey McMurran, Juliet Osborne, Nolan McMurran, Jemma Johnson, Sidney Osborne and Thomas MacKellar. Sadly missed by sister Catherine Griffith and sister-in-law Wanda McLachlin. Predeceased by sisters Agnes Jean McLachlin, Betty (Bill) Thomas, brother Alex McLachlin and brother-in-law Ron Griffith. The Elliott family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at John C. Badder Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. Cremation with private family interment in Shetland Cemetery.
