Obituary of Marjorie June Hands

Hands; Marjorie (Welch), formerly of RR#4 Alvinston, passed away peacefully with her sons by her side at Meadowview Villa on August 30, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Calvin (2003). Loving mother of Tom (Janice), and Jim (Mary Ellen) Hands. Cherished grandmother of Theresa (Brad) FitzGerald, Shelley (Adam) Swan, Lisa (Kevin) Peters, Matthew Hands, and JoHannah Hands. Great-grandmother to Bennett and Audrey FitzGerald, Asher and Jack Swan, Kylie and Natalie Peters. Loving sister to Lois Weaver (late John), sister-in-law to Velma Cox (late Charles). Predeceased by brothers Murray (Eileen) Welch and Billy Welch. Marjorie taught for 32 years in Euphemia, beginning in a one-room school. She also taught Sunday School at St. John’s Aughrim Church and was an active member of ACW for over 60 years. Throughout her life Marjorie was a kind, encouraging, compassionate, and thoughtful woman who was a well-respected by her family, friends and the community. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Friends and family will be received at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. for visitation. Funeral service will be officiated by Rev. John Maroney at Badder & Robinson Funeral Home on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with an interment to follow at St. John’s Aughrim Church cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church hall immediately after. Donations can be made in Marjorie’s memory to St. John’s In The Woods Cemetery Aughrim, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or charity of choice.
