LONG: Arthur, formerly of Glencoe, surrounded by the love of his family and his wife by his side, passed from this earth on October 26, 2017 at the age of 92. Survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Louise (Cross). Proud father of Gary (Thea), Shirley Gardiner, Janette, Ken (Rose), Orv (Margie), Bev (Rick) Welch, Donna (Lonnie)Barnes and Rhonda. Adored by grandchildren, Allen (Teresa), David (Annie), Mark, and Vincent Long, Sherrie (Lee) Abrantes, Greg (Joelle) Long, Tara (Jay) Smith, Madison Long, Brad (Jen) Welch, Tracy (Matt) Logan, Ben Barnes, Alicia (Steve) Dotzert. Loved by great-grandchildren Julia, Luke, Sloan, Beckham, Chloe, Caleb, Brayden, Hunter, Kiera, Jackson, Emma, Ferguson and Konrad and several step-family members. Survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy Long and Alma Johnston. Predeceased by his parents Garnet and Annie (Purcell) Long, brothers Gordon, Ray, Orville and Walter, brother and sister-in-law Don Johnston and Phyllis Blain (Joe, Bill McBrayne) and son-in-law Jack Gardiner. Art was a true gentleman with a warm smile and sparkling blue eyes. Art and Louise started their married life farming at Clachan, changing careers to driving a gravel truck and moving to Wardsville and Glencoe. His greatest pleasure in life was his family, serving the Lord and his community. The Long family will receive family and friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St. Bothwell on Friday from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:30 PM. Interment Purcell Cemetery.
