Obituary of Charles W. Shaw

Shaw: Peacefully, at the London Health Science Centre, on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, Charles "Chuck" Wallace Shaw, left his earthly home to meet his Heavenly Father, in his 83rd year. He will be deeply missed by his wife Loraine (Hamilton) with whom he shared his life and his work for 62 years. Together they loved and were loved in return by their children and in laws, Sherry Gabison and Rocky Lalama, Robyn and Chris Howley, Deb and Ted Winia, and Steve and Ann Shaw. Grandpa will be affectionately remembered by his grandchildren, Kam Gabison, Sean, Josh, and Colin Howley, Meaghan who married Kyle Chisholm, Abby, Lexy, and Zack Winia, Jake and Leigha VanEerd, and Michael Shaw. He was blessed with four great grandchildren, Ava Winia, and Finn, Zoe, and Rhys Chisholm who never failed to bring a smile to his face. Chuck spent all of his life in Thamesville and surrounding area. He was a self-employed drilling contractor who worked hard to create a beautiful life for his family. He has been described as a kind, generous man with a fun-loving spirit. In life, he was a mentor and a "fixer" who claimed he could 'fix anything but a broken heart." Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, friend, and relative, who in turn was blessed with love and respect from the people he cherished most. He was a humble man with an inspiring faith in God. His spirit will forever be with everyone his life touched. At Chuck's request cremation has taken place, relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Thamesville on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Ray Lawhead as Celebrant. Following Mass a Celebration of Chuck's Life will be held at the Bothwell Legion Hall from 1:00PM - 4:00PM. Interment of Cremains in St. Paul's Cemetery, Thamesville will be held at a later date.
