So sorry to hear this. I have wonderful memories of Julia's style and panache. She shared her middle name with my mum (Cecelia Emmalene Tiffin) - and I know my mum thought very highly of her. Condolences to the whole family....

Dear Jewell,
It deeply saddens me that you have moved on and I'll never get to hear that laugh of yours again. I will remember for the rest of my days the many times you visited us in Port Credit and acted as a stabilizing factor in my parents rocky at best marriage. I'll remember your convertibles and the trips I had in them around London and to Story Book Gardens. I'll remember those wonderful trips to Rondeau Park after Joan and I were married and playing Yahtsy with Uncle Tom on the back porch to well after midnight. I'll remember those wonderful boating adventures and the sights we saw; and the spur of the moment parties we had at your home in Caledon East. I remember our trips in my convertible and how good it felt to pay you back something.....
I'll always remember you
Leeson and Joan Laing

Until I read her obituary it truly had not hit me that our dear Auntie Jewel is now in heaven. She was an incredible woman and one I admired tremendously. She was a true fashionista, amazing seamstress and friend to all who knew her. I love you dear auntie and will see you one day in heaven, glory to God!

Dear John, Ruthie and all of Jewell's family,
On behalf of all Jewell's friends at the Canadian Women's Club in Freeport, please accept our condolences on your loss. Since joining in 1994, Jewell rarely, if ever, missed a meeting and introduced many members to the club including me. She is known for always being beautifully dressed and for her skill making her own clothes, and for her smile and enthusiasm. She was missed last winter, the first that she was unable to return to Freeport, and will continue to be missed and remembered fondly.

Julia was truly a "jewel" and will be missed. So glad we cousins spent time together just a couple of weeks ago. What a delightful day. Our love and prayers are with all the family.

With great sadness I say goodbye to my cousins Julia. I will always remember her as a lively, happy and energetic member of the family. She always had a great tale to tell and a party to dance to. I will miss her but I know that heaven will welcome her with open arms.
