Obituary of Mary Georgina Powell

Mary Georgina Powell, born June 22, 1942, Florence Ontario passed away peacefully with family on April 10, 2017 at the Four Countries Hospital, Newbury Ontario. Pre-deceased by her parents George and Stella, brothers Ronald and Clare. Mary travelled the world with her sister Joan to new and exciting adventures such as; Austria, Germany Russia, Australia and the warmer parts of the United States. Mary's passion was her love of animals, she always had a collection of exotic birds and after retirement from Aviva Insurance (claims manager) began her cherished affair with award winning Pugs. Sadly missed by loving sister Joan (Tom), brother George, sister -in -laws Jean, Lily and nieces Sherri, Debora, Loretta, Anne, Lidia and nephews Phil, George, Dale and David. Mary was a generous person with a big heart who truly enjoyed her family, friends and her many animals fondly called the zoo. Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at Shetland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting a donation to the Cancer Society of Canada or the Pugalug Club-Pug Rescue.
