Cameron-Van Der Paelt: Carol Elizabeth, beloved wife of Jeff Van Der Paelt, passed away peacefully at their home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the age of 46. Born in Chatham, daughter of Don and Lillian (Kerr) Cameron of Thamesville and daughter-in-law of Joseph and Martha Van Der Paelt of Thamesville. Carol is survived by step-daughter Brittany Van Der Paelt and her fiancé Brendan Allen; brother Glen and Penny Cameron (Ben and Sean), brother-in-law Ron and Sarah Van Der Paelt (Zachary, Madeline and Nicholas); several aunts, uncles and cousins. Dear friend of Stephanie Massender and her loyal four-legged friend Jesse. Predeceased by step-son Jeremy Van Der Paelt (2016). Carol's giving heart, warmth and never ending smile will be missed by all her family, friends, and colleagues at Union Gas where she was a devoted employee for 20 years. The Cameron-Van Der Paelt families will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Tuesday from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Thamesville. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque) to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
