Obituary of Donald Blake Smith
Smith: Donald Blake a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2016 in his 84th year at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Don is survived by his wife Annie (Lovell), children: Dennis & Lisa Smith, Lynn Smith & George Denkers, Diane (Dragstra) & Bryan Edmondson, Dean Smith & Connie Young, Janice & Robin Dudley. Brother John & Phyllis Smith. Sisters Donna Ouellette, Margo & Gerard Bechard. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary Dehens, Alvie & Yvonne Lovell. He was a proud grandpa to 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Don is predeceased by his parents Harold & Pearl Smith, brothers Wayne & Rose Smith, Harland & Kay Smith, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Maurice Ouellette, Walt Dehens, Will & Helen Lovell, Ken & Bella Lovell. Don was retired from Navistar International. He went on to drive bus for 15 years at Badder Bus Services. He had a love for the game of hockey and coached or managed many teams in Chatham and Dresden. He was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. A private memorial service will be arranged at a later date. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Chatham-Kent Hospice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the John C.
