Lee could be counted upon to give his best to any job he undertook. Because of this quality he could be termed the 'perfect livestock feeder'. Your neighbours at the bottom of Esterville are sharing your grief.

On behalf of Vance Maynard & family, we are sad to hear of Lee's passing. He was a good man who if asked, would drop everything he was doing, to help a friend/neighbour out if needed. A family man, fan of John Deere, Oliver tractors, George Jones and country living. His spirit will live on through his grown boys and grandchildren.

Aunt Connie, Mike, John, &Jay
There aren't enough words in Websters that begin to describe how blessed our family was to have such an amazing man in our lives. Growing up he was Uncle Dickie to all his nieces and nephews. We were all drawn to his youthful, gentle way, his quick wit and playful smile. Those big brown eyes that looked at you like you were the most important person in the room. The last few weeks my heart has been flooded with memories like an old movie projector. The beautiful smell of his pipe as he fed it with tobacco and relit it over and over, singing to the auctioneer song on the hifi, and the patience he had teaching me to use the clutch on the old David Brown tractor. But my favourite memory, teaching Lorrie and I to shoot skeet. After we landed on our butts 10 feet away, he would be giggling so hard, trying to get the words out. "a little more practice and those bunnies don't stand a chance!"
For a little baby boy, who's parents were told to drive slowly to the hospital in 1949 because he was so sick....was really a fighter with a determination to touch so many lives for 66 years.
Oh, how I will miss your "pop" in visits sharing a beer at room temperature! Your Thursday night phone calls, catching up about the boys and his grandchildren he was so proud of. But mostly my heart aches to hear you say, just one more time, "Your still my girl, Love ya kid".
Keeping all my family lifted up in prayer, Tracey Larsen (McDonald)

Dear Connie, Mike, Johnny, Jason, and families
Lee was such a great person, and we all feel fortunate to have had him in our lives. We remember many visits to the farm, over many decades, that were always greeted with a giant smile. Lee had the task of keeping 6 kids under the age of 5 busy....not an easy request, but Lee was always willing. He was kind and generous, and loved to enjoy good times. We will all remember him with a smile on our face. Lee was a great man that we will all miss, and remember with respect.
Love and hugs to all of you, and boys takes care of your mom
