Kelley, Jerry and families. Such a great lady, teacher, golfer and hockey lover. What an inspiration and role model for your family. We will miss her on the course and at the arenas. The loss of parent, grandparent leaves a void that words cannot fill. May you find comfort in the moments you shared together, and may her memory bring you peace. Sincerely John, Maria & family, and Gerald & Anita VanLith and family.

Dear Kelley, Jerry & Family's. I got to know your Mom first when she taught my two Son's at St Ignatious School. The boys loved her and I grew to as well. She was a wonderful teacher. In 1986 I joined the Staff of St Ignatius as the Custodian and that is when I began to learn just how much "Mrs Copeland" loved and respected her students and her roll as their grade 1/2 Teacher. I worked a split shift arriving for 7 am - 9. I always arrived by 6:45 and many days I would pull into the school parking lot and the lights would already be on. Inside I would find Gloria in her room working away prepping her lessons and classroom for the day, very often her Grandson Jason would be with her helping her out. The second part of my shift was 2-5 and many days "Mrs Copeland" would not leave much ahead of me. Her love and dedication to her job and her students was incredible. As a parent I felt blessed to have her teaching my boys at such a young age. For a few years we were also on St Ignatius Bowling League with her & Fred. When she retired I was happy for her but I missed her very much. I had great respect for her. She will be greatly missed and your loss saddens me. Mark & I offer our deepest condolences to you all.

she was an excellent and beloved teacher. Our girls still remember her reading their favorite book,

I wish I could think of something to say that would make this easier for all those who are mourning Gloria but I can only think that she had a full and active life and enjoyed all of her friends and loved ones. Blessings to all of them.

Kelley, Jerry and families, I am so sorry for your loss. I have wonderful memories of your mom through her friendship with my parents, Gerry & Ted Kelly. It was always a treat to visit with her when our paths occasionally crossed again at the golf course-she was always smiling and happy. My sister, Kim, always thought it was so special that she was able to play hockey with your mom in Bothwell, for a few years. I'm thinking of you and send my deepest condolences to you and all who loved her.

There will never be a better "Mrs. C." than this amazing woman!! She will always have a huge place in my heart and I consider her as my 2nd mother because she helped raise me to be the fine, strong-willed, warmhearted gentleman I am today!! She always encouraged me to always work hard and do my best at everything I do, and she picked me up and comfort me when I was down and depressed. I experienced the love she has for her Montreal Canadiens, I witnessed her finesse and accuracy on Sunday morning on the ice with her fellow Slo-Girls, and I witnessed her love and commitment to her family, her students, her friends, and her community!! OH BOY!! her baked beans, her homemade mac and cheese, and her delightful desserts (especially homemade pies and cheesecakes) were to die for. She always welcomed me and my family into her home every weekend and on special holidays with a glowing smile and open arms!! She will never be replaced!! She will definitely be dearly missed, but never forgotten!! I LOVE YOU MRS. C., Please look over on us as you hang out with your beloved husband, Fred and play some golf in the Heavenly Kingdom!! Rest in Peace!!

I was sad to hear of Mrs. Copelands passing. She was my teacher at St. Ignatius. I am a teacher and I carry on the jellybean jar with my students as well. Such fond memories of this tradition. I learned a lot about her life reading the obituary. What a kind , intelligent and devoted teacher and person she was. Condolences to the family.

Sending deepest condolences to all the family. She was my teacher in grade 1&2 at St Ignatius in Bothwell. The best thing you had to work hard on your tiny spelling list to get jellybeans from Mr Pickle. Was a true mentor in my life as I am in the education field myself

What can I see about my mom? She was kind, beautiful, and the best mom and grandmother. She wasn’t only my mom she was my best friend. The last three years we did everything together. She always looked on the brighter side of everything. She would find something nice about a walnut. She was so proud of her home that you lived in since 1967. She put make up on every day, even from no one was coming. If her face wasn’t done up, she wouldn’t answer the door. She still had that look when she was disappointed in you, that look that could knock you over with one glare. You knew you were in trouble then. I’m sure her students could attest to that. She got up in the morning and read the paper from front to back. She did every puzzle and it didn’t matter how hard they were, she got them all and love the challenge. Her love of Reading with so much of her life. She could finish a novel in a day if she wanted to. Her favourite time of the year was spring and summer? Your favourite thing was to go out on the deck in the afternoon and have a glass of wine with friends. She hosted hundreds of people in her home and always invited everyone to stay. She just loved Company. I swear to God, sometimes I would think she was Inviting the town of Wardsville over for dinner. She was famous for her holiday feasts. No one can make a pumpkin pie like her. She told me how to cook, What was important in life and what was supposed to be no stress. That was her favourite line I think. “No stress”. We love playing golf together, but what really pissed me off Was that she would beat me 90% of the time, even at the age of 80. She was sort of a back rat. When I went through her things yesterday she had clippings out of the paper since 1955. She kept every picture of everyone, every obituary, of course a sports story that included someone she knew. She loved her hockey. I could remember being embarrassed when I was young, because she would yell at the TV so loud when the hockey game was on, I would be embarrassed. I would tell my friends to wait until she got her stick out. I’m not quite sure if she’s thought that was fun or not. I loved her so much Call my and there’s so many great things I would love to tell you. But there’s just not enough room to tell everything what made her exceptional. There was just so much kindness in her heart. The night that she passed is she laying in her bed at the hospital I hugged her and told her I loved her. She whispered in my ear. I love you so very much. Who could ask for more?
