Obituary of Janice Elise Shaw

Surrounded by her loving family on January 20th, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Janice Elise Shaw  "Jan"  of Thamesville, passed away at the age of 68. Janice was born on May 9th, 1955 to her beloved parents Elmer and Cecile Myers (pre deceased) and was a daughter-in-law of Jim and Dorothy Shaw (pre deceased). 

Janice was a devoted wife and best friend to her husband, Bob, and the most loving mother to Rob (Tasha), Jessica (Steve Vandenheuvel) and Jay (Carly). Janice loved her grandchildren: Baya, Harper, Irelynn, Cody, Roewen, Brynn and Aubrey. Her grandkids loved spending time with her, baking her famous banana muffins, cheering them on at their hockey games, catching frogs in her pond and learning how to knit. 

Jan was blessed with a large family and group of friends, too numerous to name, who loved and supported her throughout her life. Janice adored her sisters and brothers and loved attending their large family get togethers. 

Jan loved gardening and watching the birds in her backyard. She loved sitting at the cottage watching the boats go by. 

The Shaw family would like to thank the staff at the CKHA intensive care unit for their care and support. 

Friends and family are invited to the John C. Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville  on Thursday, January 25th from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. 

A private celebration will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider donating (by cheque only) to the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation (c/o  34 Wellington St E, Chatham, ON N7M 3N7) or the Thamesville Fireman's Association (c/o P.O. Box 418, Thamesville ON. N0P 2K0). These were organizations that were near and dear to Jan’s heart.
