Obituary of Oscar Floyd Horton Sr.
Horton: Oscar Sr., a resident of Chatham, passed away suddenly at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the age of 85. Born in Salmon Arm, B.C., son of the late James and Ethel Horton. Oscar had retired from Siemens after many years of service, he loved to hunt, fish, play horseshoes and cribbage. He was a volunteer fireman for many years. Beloved husband of the Late Joyce Horton (Campbell) (2021). Loving father of Brenda Jackson (Denny), Late Sharon Horton (1983), Shean Shaw (Diane), Oscar Horton jr. (Patti), Dana Horton (Norma), Mathew Horton (Christine), Jason Horton (Brian), and chosen daughter Karen Ferguson. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Takisha (Preston), Nathan, Alex, Jacob (Shelby), Eric (Syeraa), Joshua, Kylie, Joe, Jordon and great-grandchildren Quinn, Deklen, Aurora, Landon and Liam. Dear brother of Mary Strandberg. Predeceased by siblings Chester, Archie, Ernest, Olive, Violet and Tommy. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Oscar's Life will be held at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Interment of Cremains in Bothwell Cemetery at a later date.
