Obituary of Donna Louise Martin

Donna Louise Martin (nee Latimer) passed away suddenly on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Riverview Gardens, Chatham after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 86.

Donna is predeceased by her husband Terry (2012), her parents Jack and Edna (Pegg) Latimer and brothers-in-law Lynn, Dennis (Carol) and Art. She is survived by her children Bob (Anne), Don (Mary Lou), Marilou Sanderson, Sandy Parsons (Paul), Scott (Kelly), her sister Karen Park (Dan), brother-in-law Gerald (Vivian), sister-in-law Sandy, ten grandchildren: Amy (Brett), Julie (Mike), Shannon (Matt), Alex, Ryne (Aneta), Eric, Robbie, Brock, Dawnna (Brandon), Connor (Natalie), eight great grandchildren: Marcus, Sebastian, Hudson, Dominik, Kanon, Jonas, Tucker, Eliza, several nieces and nephews.

Donna was a proud Dresden resident. Her early married life was dominated by her rapidly growing family. Donna treasured her family throughout her life. She began a successful banking career at the Dresden CIBC, retiring as the Farm Credit Manager. Donna was very active in the community volunteering at Kinettes, Dresden Minor Hockey and the Dresden Community Church. She also worked alongside her family members for many years at the Dresden Raceway.

The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care Mom received during her stay at Park Street Place in Dresden and at Riverview Gardens in Chatham. We are grateful to the many health care professionals who cared for Mom during her challenging final years. If desired, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Chatham.

Family and friends will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception 679 North St., Dresden on Thursday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Dresden Community Church on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
