Obituary of Joyce MacTavish
MACTAVISH: Eulah JOYCE (Blayney) formerly of Dresden, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 26, 2023 with family by her side, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie Ontario, at the age of 95. She was born in Simcoe to the late Thomas and Violet Blayney and she completed her Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Toronto, 1950. She has gone home to her Lord and is reunited in heaven with her late husband of 50 years Alexander MacTavish (2006), married May 26, 1956.
She will be sadly missed by her loving sons Bruce (Alison), Brian (Dianne) & Murray (Stephanie) and her 8 grandchildren Heather (David), Sandra (Andrew), Glen, Lisa (Jeffrey), Kirk (Hannah), Peter (Alexandra), Emily (Steve) & Meghan (Brock) and her great grandchildren Keira, Henry, Lucas, Adeline, Lincoln, Beckett, Wren, Rowan, Wyatt, Asher, & Barrett.
She is predeceased by her brother Fred Blayney (Dora Mae), sister Kathleen Barkley (Harry), sisters-in-law Jean McVickar (Emerson), Marion McDonald (Glen) and brother-in-law John MacTavish (Donna).
Joyce was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother and helped with MacTavish Pharmacy bookkeeping. As well, she was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian church where she served as president of the Ladies Aid and Women's Missionary Society. She was a lifetime member of IODE and had many close friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St, Dresden on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 11:30 am until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m. Livestream options are available for the service. Interment to follow in the Dresden Cemetery, followed by a reception at Badder funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation Ontario or a charity of your choice.
