Obituary of Brian Leslie Thompson
Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Bluewater Health, Brian Leslie Thompson passed away at the age of 75. Born in Petrolia in 1947 he was the eldest of 3, of the late Leslie and Emmie Thompson. He grew up on a farm near Inwood and met Deborah Boyse in March of 1991 in Thamesville. Moving to Dresden in 1998 they built a happy life together with their two daughters Lauren Nicole Thompson and Julie Patricia Thompson. Cherished "Ampah" of Raina Leslie June Thompson daughter of Lauren. He was survived by his brother Allan Thompson and sister Linda Bell (Gary Bell). Uncle to Corey Bell (Andrea Bell)(Lucas and Thomas) and Clarissa Bell (Cam Mogk)(Emmie and Jacie). He was a farmer and a truck driver in his younger years, then began his career as a machinist working at R.J. Simpson / Metaldyne in Thamesville for 34 years until his retirement in 2009. Brian was a very dedicated, thoughtful, and respected man to everyone who got to know him throughout his life. Always willing to help anyone who needed him, he was a very giving person whether it was his time, advice, or actions. He could be described as a jack of all trades including carpentry, mechanics, and farming. He always used his knowledge and abilities to assist anyone in any way that he could. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, and was a proud firearms enthusiast. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many people who helped provide care for Brian over the last few years. Including his Doctors, his VON nurse Dawn Brown, and the palliative care team at Bluewater Health. As well as a big thank you to all of the neighbors, friends, extended family members, and people in the community who provided help and support to Brian and family throughout the years. As per his wishes there will be no visitation a Private Interment will be held at Shetland Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, Dresden
