Obituary of Irwin McCarthy Simmons

Irwin McCarthy Simmons, a resident of Dresden, passed peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - ICU on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the age of 88. Born in Chatham Twp., son of the late Anna-Mae (Dudley) and Serene Simmons. Beloved husband of Alva (Chandler) Simmons for an amazing 68 years. Loving dad of Debbie Baldwin (Bart Bartlett), Michael (Brenda Simmons),Tracey Simmons and Robert Simmons. Sadly missed by grandchildren Robert Reaume, Elisha Davis (Jared) , Josh Simmons (Sydney Colby) and great grandchildren Hayden, Troy, Clinton, Kiffany. Loving brother of Bern, Gail and Mark. Predeceased by granddaughters Corinne and Kayla Simmons. siblings Willis, Owen, Phillip, Dennis, Hertha, Herbert and Floyd. Irwin worked at Navistar for 30 years and was a blood donor for red cross for many years. Family and friends will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St., Dresden on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment in Dresden Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
