Obituary of Richard Chadwick McGuire Jr.
Today is a day that no parent ever wants. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of a young man. Richard Chadwick McGuire, born on January 29, 1989, passed away suddenly at the family farm on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He will be missed by his family and friends too many to mention.
Richard struggled with the rules that life has for all of us. He tried hard, had some good jobs, and some not so good. He could run any piece of equipment, some even from a young age, and for a while he operated large equipment out west. Ricky struggled with mental anguish and addiction. No person is ever born wanting to grow up with these challenges. During his abbreviated life, his father stood by him, always. Some of us set limits. All of us never lost hope that Ricky would be able to overcome these challenges. He maintained a huge heart for all that he touched along the way. He could brighten your day with a simple smile or by lending a helping hand, no charge. He had a huge love for his daughter Mya, the outdoors, his dog, but most of all he loved his motor sports and the thrill of the chase. Ricky had a carefree spirit with the touch of an outlaw attitude. And for those who knew and loved him…have you been told today.
Born in Chatham, son of Richard McGuire Sr. and Jayne McGuire. Cherished father to Mya McGuire. Step-brother to Jason McGuire. Forever missed by his aunts and uncles, Jill & Brian McFadden, and Mary Beth & Allan Nethercott. Predeceased by his grandparents Morley & Helen McGuire. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 113 on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Interment of ashes at Shetland Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden. Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Chatham Hope Haven. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.
From one of his grandma's favourite sayings "Some people come into our lives and go too quickly...some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same." Ricky you have left too early but you have left footprints on our hearts. Today we say so long, may you be at peace young man.
