Obituary of Gerald (Mick) McDonald
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Gerald Gordon (Mick) McDonald on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the age of 82. Mick was a long time resident of Thamesville, and recently of Blenheim. Predeceased by Betty, his wife of 53 years. Mick was survived by his six children - Mike McDonald (Tammy), Mark McDonald (Leigh), Michelle MacDonald, Maureen Uitvlugt (Dave), Mickey Taziar (Paul) and Marcy Mortier (Mike). He leaves a legacy of 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mick is also survived by his dear friend, Kate McDonald. The oldest of three boys, he was the son of Gordon and Adelaide McDonald and was predeceased by his brothers Bob and Doug. He was also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Murray & Donna Charron, Tim & Laurie Charron, Rose McDonald and Betty McDonald and many nieces and nephews. You might remember Mick from seeing him at the horse races, baseball diamonds, the hockey arena in Bothwell, or the legion telling tales or playing darts. A Celebration of Life (Casual Drop In) will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Picnic Shelter of Ferguson Park 2 Wallace St. Thamesville.
