This was my dad. So many good memories of him I don’t know where to start. We had so many things in common I didn’t even realize till he was gone. We both loved our Mennonite history, dandelions, canola fields, gardening, making people laugh and cha cha sunflower seeds. I would often get water from them because it is better than ours. Sometimes when it would take a little longer to get water ,he would message me and ask if we don’t need water anymore? I would fill up the water bucket sit down with him and eat sunflower seeds. He would share with me stories of his childhood or of someone he knew that died or some funny story or joke. I always looked forward to chatting with him. He brought us up to work hard. I had the privilege of working with him one last time on April the 27th. He would always make sure the boss knew that I was his daughter and these were his grandkids. He was so proud. We all looked forward to his WhatsApp status updates because you never knew what he would post. Dad you will leave a huge whole in everyone’s heart that knew you. I believe he accepted Christ before he died. So we can look forward to seeing him again in heaven. I love you dad. From Lena

Jacob was my oldest brother, I was born a little while before he got married and started a family of his own, so I was always shy towards him and I kinda thought he didn't care too much for his youngest siblings, but the last few years he would send me a message every now and then and I know he did care especially in the last month. The second last message he sent he said "tell Mom I love her". I know those words came from someone whoes heart was filled with the one who is Love Himself 1. John 4, because he used to never say something like that. Now I look at that message over and over and the more I do the more I rejoice at knowing I will see him soon again at the complete family gathering in heaven.

He was my Dad, he taught me so much. I clearly recall him putting me on a tractor at what must have only been the age of 7, teaching me how to drive it. How to properly use the clutch. At the age of 12 he let me help him rebuild the engine in our little Farmall Cultivision A, replacing the cylinder sleeves, rings, and pistons. It started on nearly the first hand crank from there on.
Me and my siblings were given responsibilities at a young age. At the time we didn’t know what a blessing that would be to us yet, it has made us strong and resilient. Something I think the next generation of parents would do well to bring forward in the rearing of their children.
Dad worked so hard for us when he was young and healthy. No he wasn’t perfect, as none of us are. But he made sure we received the best education he could provide. An education based solidly in a Biblical worldview. A worldview that recognizes that humanity is not perfect. That since the fall of Adam we are all sinners in need of a saviour. And that God himself provided that saviour for us, His Son! “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 I Pray that many more souls would be brought to saving faith in Jesus Christ. So that they may share with us the eternal life that is promised to those that take up they’re cross and follow Jesus. The end of this temporary life does not have to be the end.

I have not one specific memory, but many. One thing that sticks out to me about Mr. Jacob is he never failed to make sure everyone around him was in a good mood-wether on the field at work or just in his home. He was such a loving, easy going man! Sad to see him go but rejoicing for him, he’s with our wonderful Lord Jesus ❤️ My greatest condolences to the family, may the Lord comfort you in this time of grieving.

A memory I have of Mr. Jacob Peters was when I was 13, he was a leader at Tuesday school where I went. I remember voicing " there's something I really appreciate about that man." Was it that he seemed so lighthearted? Or maybe that in a nervous setting he had a way of making one feel comfortable. I'm sure he has so many more great qualities that will make him so missed! My deepest condolences to all the family for your loss ❤ thinking about you often, praying God will help you through this. The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:24-26

I was so sorry to hear this news. My sincere condolences to Jake's entire family. Over the years Jake (and his family) helped us on the farm many times. His home is on a parcel of land severed from one of our farms so he was a neighbour as well.

So sorry to hear this. Our condolences to all the family. Jake was a neighbor and worked with us on the farm for many years along with his family. He always had connections to find help when we needed it in the tomato field. Rest In Peace Jake.
