I know this is a little late but my condolences to the Brain, Barry and Pam and especially Irene Jim's beloved wife. When I would come home and visit my parents I would see Jim and Irene at the service held at the Windsor Center, I always enjoyed seeing them and the support they gave through their attendance. I'm sure Jim will be missed but will always be in the hearts of his loved ones.

My deepest condolences to all the Jackson family.
When I passed the news of Jim's passing onto the girls, the first thing they said was, "Jim was the best school bus driver ever." I do remember one time he forgot my kids and took them around the entire route. Since we lived across from the bus barn it was no big deal to bring them home. He did get teased about it though.
I had the pleasure of working with Jim over a few years in Scouts and Cubs. He cared deeply for kids.
Watching the slide show tells a story of family love around the table.
Brian and Barry will have a big pair of boots to fill, but I know you have made him proud. We have lost a good one, but the Lord has gained one.
Fondest memories
Audrey Weaver, Tracy, Tammy and Greg

Aunt Irene
this is Jason, Charlie And Joanne son just wanted to say how much I love you and your family espcially my memory of my favorite uncle Jim. As a young boy and man i have and had alot of firsts with my uncle jim. first time ever seen pigs and piglets first time i ever got chased by a pig lol a goose that beat me up and later had tp save that same goose cause it get stuck in the poop pit and i was the only one small enough to fit inside cause it was coverd we became good frinds after that lol. also came down from north one year when he was sick with my farther and helped out on the farm he taught me how to run the bailing tractor on my own and even trusted me to run it. witch as a northern boy i thought was the coolest thing. he was very patient with me as hyper as i was and new how to channel that to put me to work. never got mad like others said during service even when me and my father took wagons of grain to the mill by farm and i didnt know that the parking brake didnt work and that you had to leave gear i went to get out and the tractor rolled backwards down the ramp and spill two wagons and broke one he didnt get upset he just went with the flow and said no one ever cried over spill beans lol and then used some of his engineering and we fixed the wagon. we also had the no veg and fruit thing in common and chocolate pie i always loved to visit the farm. even after my dad and his stroke i just had to go to hospital to visit him and say hello. You will be dearly missed uncle Jim but i know i will see you in heaven on the other side some day love you and rest in piece. Jason Fields

My brother and I wish to add our condolences to the Jackson family. Jim's legacy is wide and impactful, as memories of his kindness and cheerful countenance will long remain. My visits with my dad always included at least one Sunday service spent with the Wabash congregation, and Jim and Irene were an integral part of that visit. While my memories of Erie Beach reunions tend to be somewhat dim, Jim was there as well, along with my grandmother and the whole extensive Jackson clan. Jim's gentle smile and nature are written into our hearts. Our love to the Jackson family on this loss.

Aunt Irene and families Brian/Michelle Barry/Brunella & Pam/Glenn,
Heather and I send our condolences. Uncle Jim will be missed. I have many fond memories when staying on the farm over the summers. Chores did not seem like chores when working with Uncle Jim. He truly wore his faith and love of family on his rolled-up sleeves. He also shared his love of vehicles and they were usually Dodge. From the ‘66 field car, to the clinic that he put on with Brian’s Chrysler New Yorker (vs Mustang), he had a passion for the vehicles. They were a great tool for him to show his caring as he would often use the excuse of… “ I was going to change the oil today and had to warm up the vehicle first” , then proceed to drive several hours to visit Barry in Toronto, out of the blue.

Irene and family,
We extend our sincere sympathy to you all during this time. Jim was a very kind and gentle soul. He was always available when anyone needed a helping hand. If Jim couldn’t get it working, it was time to recycle it. Wayne and I made a few trips with Jim and Irene out to Erie beach to return pots to the dining hall after Wabash’s smorgasbord supper over the last 4 years or so. As time went on Jim was less able to communicate but one trip in particular Wayne gave his Ford F 150 a little shot and as clear as day Jim said “nice truck, got power too”! To end our trip we would stop at Timmy’s for a little treat on the way back to Beatie Haven, which we all enjoyed. There are so many cherished memories throughout the years with Jim and Irene, it’s hard to pick just one to share. Our hearts will hold each one dear. We know you will hold on to your memories and draw strength and comfort from them, along with God’s love and support.
Much love,
Wayne and Mary Sue

Sorry for the loss of Jim. You will really miss him as you two have spent a lot of time together these last few years. No "running away to the barn" as lots of farmers have done over the years. Enjoyed my last visit with you guys that day I brought Olive to Wardsville. Know that you will have many fun memories to guide you through this difficul time.

I remember bringing some asparagus soup and strawberries and picking up Mom (Grace) and dad (Bev) and driving out to the farm to visit Uncle Jim and Aunt Irene for lunch. Mom had been in Riverview Gardens for a bit with her dementia and Uncle Jim was just starting with dementia. I thought the sister and brother would like a good visit at the farm. When we got there I started to help aunt Irene getting the soup and strawberries ready for everyone except uncle Jim because I knew he didn’t like fruits and vegetables. To my surprise he had forgotten (with his dementia) that he didn’t like fruits and vegetables and tasted asparagus and strawberries for the first time! He loved them.

Uncle Jim has been a positive spiritual presence to me over the years. He's always listened (he used to say 'is that right'), ensured we had fun when our families were together, and taught me how to be a quiet positive influence to others. And he took games seriously, well at least crokinole. He made me a horse race game from an old kitchen cupboard. I'm so very thankful that he was in my life. Until we meet again. Love Patsy

As a dad I always watch over examples of fatherhood to have a reference as how to be a better one myself. I take examples after my friends’ fathers, since I know so much of their sons, and I can relate them to the upbringing they had, thus understand their fathers influence over them.
Even tough I did not have a close direct contact with Mr. Jackson, he impacted me, I can say so much about his character hearing from his son over the years. Solutions to virtually any kind of problems, little anecdotes, stories from the farm, taking care of his wife and kids, his beliefs. He impacted me as am sure did for so many.
He was the kind of man that living his ordinary life, made things extraordinary around him.
You will be dearly missed Mr. Jackson; you made a big difference.

A lot of my favorite memories with Jim took place at Erie Beach. One that comes to mind was giving Jim a hand fixing an electrical issue in the youth building when I was probably about 13. I remember being astounded at the number and variety of tools he had in the car, the bags just never seemed to end. Don't think I was actually much help beyond holding a screwdriver or two, but he was very patient and explained everything he was doing, told me the names of the parts, the tools, and some stories while he worked. He did a lot of work and gave a lot of time and energy to bring the joy of that campground to everyone who has spent time there. He was a big part of the magic of Erie Beach. Jim always had a smile and a joke ready. He passed along that trait to Brian who continues his traditions of patience, good humour, being able to fix absolutely anything, and owning far too many tools, or just the right number depending who you ask. I am glad that Jim is at peace now. He was a great man that has positively impacted many lives through his actions and his example. That positive impact will continue to ripple into the future.
