I wish I had thought to contact Rodger a long time ago. He worked on my aunt's farm many years ago and I along side him. He was kind, patient and hardworking and I had not forgotten him... RIP Rodger.

Roger could always be counted on for community support. If there was a cord of wood needed for a traditional ceremony, if we needed someone to watch fire, which was often two or three nights of no sleep without end, he was there. If we needed someone to be security at the Pow Wow's he would be there, he had boundless energy and was visible at every community event. Many people do not remember what it was like before the 911 numbers in the community, but I do. Roger was the Delaware First Nation volunteer Fireman for as long as I could remember. He would wait at the front of his home when he got the fire call from the Highgate Fire Department and jump on the back of the truck to show the firefighters where the people lived. He also had many run ins with the local police for driving his tractor to Bothwell on a regular basis to get his groceries and other "essential items". You always showed me kindness and would have time to volunteer. Anushiik for being there for the community, Roger, I will miss you.
