Obituary of John David Close

Close, John David a resident of Thamesville, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 62. Born in St. Thomas, son of the late C.L. and Shirley Close. Beloved husband of 19 years to Janice Close (Robinson). Cherished and loving father to John David Jackson Close, Andrew Steven Close, Trevor William Roebuck, Kimberley Marie Dawson, Daniel Richard Vandecaveye (Brittany Yolkowski), Travis Lloyd Vandecaveye (Amanda Janzen), and Samantha Squire. Forever missed by his grandchildren Hunter, Lila, Jacob, Liam, Levi, Josie-Lyn, Connor, Ally, Kyle, Aizak, Nora, Rowyn, Aubrey, Keeli, and Elizabeth. Dear brother to Susan Close (Scott), Mark Close, Linda Close (Jim), Rob Close (Brenda), the late Mike Close (Pam). Survived by many nieces and nephews. John was so proud of his grandchildren and cherished his time with them. At John's request, cremation has taken place. A Private Family Memorial Service will be at the John C. Badder Funeral Home. Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Sick Kids Foundation.
