Obituary of Jeanne Casier
Casier: Jeanne, a resident of R.R. 4 Thamesville, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the age of 86. Born in East Flanders, Belgium, daughter of the late Frans and Gerardine (Heyndrickx) D'Hondt. Jeanne immigrated to Canada in 1948. Beloved wife of the late George Casier (2006). Loving mother of Donald and Deb (Deprez) Casier of Thamesville, Darlene and Ed Watorek of Ridgetown, Doreen Casier of Toronto, Debbie and Jim Hawkins of Kent Bridge. Loving Grandmother to Derrick Casier, Dara McQuarrie (Tyler), Melissa Watorek, Mark Watorek (Rachel), Justin Hawkins (Laura), Jordan Hawkins (Ashlyn Ostrander), and great-grandmother to Breydon, Kylan, Sadie, Kaden, Avery, and Joel. Dearly missed by sisters, Mary Steen (Andy) of Chatham, Godelieve Bangma (the late Fred) of Newfoundland, and sister-in-law Irene D'Hondt of Bothwell. Predeceased by brothers Hubert, Joe, and infant sister Margaretha. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff on 3rd floor of Riverview Gardens for their care over the last 4 years, and the staff at the Chatham-Kent Hospice. Jeanne was an active member of the C.W.L. at St. Paul's Church, Thamesville. The Casier family will receive family and friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9 Alice St., Thamesville on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. John Juhl as celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Thamesville.
