        Van Goethem: Roger, formerly of R.R.# 3 Newbury, passed away peacefully at Beattie Haven Nursing Home, Wardsville on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 91. Born in Bass Wass, Belgium, son of the late Joseph and Elodie (Coppens) Van Goethem. Roger was a veteran of W.W. II, a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 252, Bothwell and a former member of St. Ignatius Church, Bothwell. Beloved husband of the late Theresa (Hack) Van Goethem. Loving father of Marie VanSchoonhoven of Chatham, Jerry Van Goethem (Cindy) of Bothwell, Wayne Van Goethem (Sharon) of Chatham. Loving step-father of Lorraine Marsh-Vermote (Ken Tiffin) of Charing Cross, Bev Aubertin (Ron) of Bothwell, and Lynda Teskey of Petrolia. Sadly missed by many grandchildren , great-grandchildren and great – great grandchildren. Dear brother of Marietta Depelsmaeker (Joe) of Glencoe. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Van Goethem family will receive friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Church, Glencoe on Monday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00am with Fr. Matthew Bedard as Celebrant. Interment St. Ignatius Cemetery, Bothwell. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Beattie Haven Nursing Home, Wardsville. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com. The Royal Canadian Legion, Bothwell will hold a Legion Service on Sunday evening at 6:45pm. Prayers will be held on Sunday evening at 8:30pm.
