Howes, Lloyd James of Chatham, died at the Chatham Campus of the CKHA on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the age of 87. Born in Botany, he was the son of the late Noble Howes & Hazel Benjamin. Predeceased in 2007 by his beloved wife of 63 years, June Patricia Paul. Also predeceased by his sister Leola Wilcox. Lloyd will be greatly missed by his only child Mervyn Howes & his wife Goldie of Chatham. Much loved grandfather of Jennifer Scobie of Windsor and Jeffrey Howes & his wife Lindsay of St. Thomas. An adored great grandpa to Tyler Howes. Special friend of Marian Lloyd. Survived by a sister-in-law Emily Garlick and her husband George. Lloyd was a well-known farmer in the Shetland area for many years. In his retirement he enjoyed travelling and playing cards and shuffleboard at the Active Lifestyle Centre. The Howes family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria Street, Thamesville on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Interment in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. Donations may be made at the funeral home to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
