Obituary of Roy Leslie Anthony
Roy Anthony died peacefully on June 29, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Roy was a proud resident of Thamesville. He adopted the Town as his home following retirement. Many will recall him as a companion to his aunt, the late Beulah Jackman. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He passed the time indulging in his hobbies of photography, music and computers. He was always ready with a smile and a cheerful word. Roy will rest in Thamesville. Close at hand will be his beloved Aunt Beulah. Roy was born on June 30, 1930 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. His parents were Gordon Anthony and Gladys Leslie. At a young age, the family relocated to Toronto. Roy spent his formative years and his career in Toronto. Roy is survived by a cousin, Marjorie MacInnes of Point Edward, Nova Scotia. They spent many happy hours together as children. They remained in touch through the decades. Roy spoke fondly of those times. He is also survived by his step-mother Barbara Anthony of London, Ontario. Roy was a dear friend of Lee Bolton. She gave tirelessly of her time in his final months. She was by his side during medical treatment. During those months, she spoiled him with tomato soup and McDonald's ice cream. There will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to the John C. Badder Funeral Home, Thamesville. If desired, donations to Chatham-Kent Veterinary Hospital, Merritt Animal Hospital or Pet and Wildlife Rescue would be appreciated.
