Obituary of Lance Huff
On Friday, May 17, 2019, Leslie Lance Huff, loving husband, father and grandfather, quietly passed away surrounded by loved ones at the age of 74.
Lance was born on May 25, 1944 in Chatham, Ontario and lived in Moraviantown with his family. After losing his hearing as a child, Lance attended the Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf, in Belleville, Ontario, where he excelled in sports, and made many friends. He met his wife of 52 years when they both worked at Chatham Fabrics, in Thamesville, Ontario. Lance was known for being a hard worker, having worked as a factory worker most of his life for Fram/Siemens Automotive.
Despite his hearing loss, Lance never let his disability get in the way of his enjoyment of life. He loved his family, his home, his dogs, spending time on the land, fishing, going to pow wows, yard sales, and long road trips. He was quick to laugh and joke with family and friends.
Lance will be missed by his wife, Linda Huff (nee Better), his daughter Sherry Huff, his son-in-law Greg Lynch, and his grandson, Myles Lynch. Lance is predeceased by his father, Whitty Huff, his mother Mattie Huff (nee Stonefish), and siblings Robert (Bobby), Terry, Donna, Geraldine, Gerald and Gary.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service to celebrate Lance’s life at 11:00 am, Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, in Bothwell, Ontario. A luncheon will follow at the Eelūnaapèewi Lahkèewiit/Delaware Nation Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) in Chatham-Kent.
