Obituary of Marie Louise Vanroboys

Vanroboys, Marie Louise (Casier) a resident of Thamesville, our Matriarch passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Tuesday October 3, 2023 in her 99th year. Reunited with her family in heaven. Born in Charleroi, Belgium,  March 22,1925. Daughter of the late Henri and Lucie (Vanbanvinckhove) Casier. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1927 and settled in Grande Pointe. Marie Louise grew up in a hardworking family and passed that hard determined work ethic on to all her family. Gran had a strong faith, she was a member of St.Paul's Roman Catholic Church and the C.W.L. Beloved wife of the late Oscar Vanroboys (2012). Loving mother of the late Henry and his wife Anne Vanroboys (2013). Marie Louise "Grandma Van" was a caring and special Grandmother to Carla and Kevin Fox, Steve and Gina Vanroboys and Jennifer and Joe Marsh. Loving great grandmother to Megan Butler (Zach), Dane Fox (Bree), Trent Fox (Maddie), Lucas and Audra Vanroboys, and Oscar, Lucy, Libby, Boone, and Scout Marsh. Proud Great Great Grandmother of Mila, Maeve, Cal, Huxley and Haddie, and a baby grandson on the way! Survived by sister and best friend Blanche Hembree (late Bill) and sister-in-law Shirley Downey (Roy). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Georgina Kestelyn (Gerard) and a brother Romain Casier (Madeline), Marie Louise took pride in everything she did. This was evident in the life she created, her home, and gardens. Family meant the world to Grandma Van. Her legacy of love, family hard work will live on. Grandma left an impression on everyone she met, and touched countless lives. Even in her final days she showed strength, grace, dignity, perseverance and gratitude to others. She was an inspiration with her positive attitude and the gift of joy! As she would say on a daily basis "it's all good." Grandma was blessed to live all her days in her own home. Thank you to Home and Community Care Support Services, Erie St. Clair Case Manager, Laurie Badder, Deacon Marcel DeClerk,  Dr. Colin McCabe, Dr. Jody Anderson, Ken from Motion, Four Counties Health Services, VON Eshift, all her "girls".  A Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Thamesville.
