Obituary of Mike Cochran

Cochran: Mike, a resident of Thamesville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the age of 79. Born in Chatham, son of the Late Robert and Florence (Boyle) Cochran. Mike retired from Metaldyne and was a Life Member of the Thamesville Sertoma Club and a member of the Thamesville Legion. He volunteered many hours, especially as scout leader, going on many camping and jamboree adventures, many new him as Papa Mike or Scouter Mike. Mike battled Huntington’s disease later in life with grace, never letting it get him down. He loved his community and was always there to help when he could. Beloved husband of 58 years to Judy (Darnforth) Cochran. Loving dad of Nicole Pavey (Rick) and the Late Wade Cochran (1986). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jocelyn Lachine (Dustyn), Kayden Tourangeau and his bonus grandchildren Ricky, Spencer, Riley and great-grandchildren Theodore, Carson and one little princess on the way. Dear brother and sister-in-law of Rick Cochran and Dan Cochran (Nuanjun) and Mernie Darnforth. Predeceased by his brother Bob (Ruth), Jack and wife Betty Cochran, and brother-in-law John Darnforth. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Cochran family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Cremation with Interment in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.
