One of the fondest memories I have of Don was his devotion to his wife. His devotion to her continued decades after her passing. I would see him buy flowers you know would later be placed on the love of his life's gravesite. I remember seeing the two of them driving down the roads together, sitting close like teenagers on a date through their whole marriage. They just loved each other's company and during the Christmas holidays he decorated their car with Christmas lights. Don was so proud of his children for their accomplishments, you could see it in the sparkle in his eye when he talked about them. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and share what he had with the community a demonstration of his strong Christian beliefs. They don't make men like him anymore . . . hardworking, soft spoken, you would see him cutting grass after dark or painting his white fence in the blazing heat. When people were out enjoying themselves, he was firmly committed to keeping his property nice, there was never a grass out of place in his yard. I am happy that Don is finally resting in the arms of this two favorite people his wife, Verna and the Lord.

Suzanne M. Jacobs sends much condolences to Family
Blessings from Stories, Don shared, many stories of working on the Jacobs Family Farm and how he appreciated learning about farming and organic beef cattle raising and learning about raising cattle the way the Jacobs were known to do for generations. Your Grandfather was gone to WWII and we had to work the Farm. Your family fed cattle vegetables, vegetable tops, apples in the warm months and allowed them to pasture and be in the cool forest during the summer, so much respect for the cattle. Our family was always thankful for the gifts of beef. Most recently, his advice, Walk, always Walk, don’t stop walking!! Don always expelled much kindness and gratitude. Thank You for all that you have shared, Your Stories will be forever cherished and appreciated, Thank You.

Condolences to the family from Tina, Jer & Family.
My childhood memories is of Don and Vera bringing us Xmas gifts every year. And Vera’s knitted hats with “faces” on the back. Loved them!! And Don coming to watch our boys Jerry and Jonah play hockey in Ridgetown. He was a good, hardworking, kind, man with a ready smile.
