Obituary of Gilbert Aers

Aers: Gilbert, a resident of Chatham and formerly of Harwich Twp,. passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the age of 88. Born in Chatham, son of the late Alphonse and Stephanie (Potflieger) Aers. Gilbert farmed and drove truck for Fredericks and Warren Gibson Transport for many years and loved animals, especially his cat’s. Loving father of Elizabeth Pinder (Allan), Christina Carron (Jim), Angela Aers, Cecilia Aers and Matthew Aers (Teri). Proud grandpa of Daniel, Michael, Chad, Brandon, Amelia, Samantha, Christopher, Crystal, Candace, Greg and Molly and 10 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by Carole Ann (McTavish) Aers. Predeceased by  sisters Erna Jubenville (2008) and Letty Williams.  At Gilbert’s request cremation will take place. A  Private Family Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Thamesville will be held at a later date. Donations to Pet and Wildlife Rescue “PAWR” would be appreciated.
