Obituary of Pierre Gilbert Vanpraet

Vanpraet: Pierre “ Peter ” a resident of Thamesville, passed away peacefully at Riverview Garden’s, Chatham on Monday, January  12, 2026 at the age of 91. Born in Zedelgem West Vlaanderen, Belgium, son of the Late Maurice and Ludwine (Moyaert) Vanpraet.  Beloved husband of the Late Georgette (Coeman) Vanpraet (2024). Loving father and father-in-law of Nancy Schram (John), Richard Vanpraet (Kristin), Late Rose Duquette (Dave) and the Late Debbie Vanpraet. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Brittany (Chris), Tanya (Kenny), Tristan (Lee Anne), Amanda (Jeff), and great-grandchildren Hayden and Elleri. Dear brother-in-law  of Martin Kowanetz. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Mary Kowanetz and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Odette and Hilaire Dewulf.  The Vanpraet family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The Funeral  Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Cremation will take place.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
