Obituary of Shirley Houston

Houston: Shirley (McKerrall), formerly of R.R.#4 Dresden, passed away peacefully at Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the age of 86. Born in Chatham Twp., daughter of the Late Edgar and Velma (Forsyth) McKerrall. Shirley devoted her life to a teaching career for 34 years at Dawn-Euphemia Central School. Many people have been touched by Shirley's excellence in teaching. She loved to garden, listen to music, and partake in many day trips with friends and family. Beloved wife of the Late Keith Houston (2013). Loving mother of Stephen Houston (Julie) of Chatham, Karen Vandecaveye (Brian) of Wyoming. Proud Grandma of Andrew, Hayley, and Grayson. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Marilyn McFadden (Late Cleo), Eilleen Loftus (Late Ted), Betty McKerrall and Shirley McKerrall. Predeceased by her sister Kathryn Forsyth (Late Grant) and brothers Fred and Murray McKerrall. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The Houston family will receive family and friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Wednesday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Linda McFadden officiating. Interment Dresden Cemetery. Donations to the Dresden Food Bank would be appreciated.
