Gerard Coffey

Obituary of Gerard Maurice Coffey

Coffey: Gerard a resident of Bothwell, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the age of 61. Gerard Maurice Coffey was born in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland. He moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta shortly after finishing school, where he met his soon to be wife Angela and stepdaughter Samantha. Not long after their daughter Jessica was born, they decided to settle down in the small town of Bothwell, Ontario.

Gerard spent his life travelling across Canada to wherever the job would lead him as a skilled sheet metal worker and doing anything he needed to do to make sure that his family was taken care of.

From crossing the ice roads of Yellowknife to getting sprayed with the mists of Niagara Falls as he scaled along the side of the building nearby, it was safe to say that although he lived a quiet life, he also lived one of adventure.

In his free time he was also a talented oil painter with a love for wildlife and had the unique ability to build and create anything he could imagine with items found around the house.

Gerard was predeceased by his dad Patrick Coffey, his mom Bride Coffey, his siblings Leroy Coffey, Francis Coffey, Linda Caul, and his brother in law's John Caul, Gus Lundrigan, and Carl Chubbs. As well as family through his wife Angela.

His memory will be carried on by his loving wife of 31 years Angela Coffey, his daughters Samantha Buckland (Jordan) and Jessie-Ann Stocking (Jesse), his cherished grandchildren Dominic, Jenae, and Jaxon, his siblings Peter Coffey (Anne-Marie), Jeannie Lundrigan, Judy Chubbs, Michael Coffey (Marilyn), Loretta Conway (Petey), Teddy Coffey (Gertrude), George Coffey, Doreen Power, and Derek Coffey (Dawn), the Cutler family and his many nieces and nephews."

Cremation has taken place. The family will remember Gerard privately. Online condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, Bothwell.
