Obituary of Ronald Elwin Beckett

Beckett: Ronald, a resident of Shetland, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the age of 81. Born in Norwich, England son of the late William and Mildred (Kerrison) Beckett. Ron was a volunteer driver for over 15 years for the Children’s Aid Society of Chatham & Sarnia. He enjoyed coaching his kids in baseball and hockey when they were growing up, even when working shift work he always made time for his kid’s and grandchildren’s activities. He loved wood working and tinkering in his shop and his pond at home with his many Koi fish. Beloved husband Barbara (Roesch) Beckett. Loving father of Annette and Chris Schleihauf and Don Beckett. Proud grandpa of Adam and Rebecca Schleihauf. Dear brother and brother-in-law of, Velma Bond (Late Earl), Rosalynn Beckett (Late Chris), Allan Beckett (Betty). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Jean Viaene and her husband Lucien and a sister Maisy Leone and her husband Peter. At Ron’s request cremation has taken place.
