My name is Vivienne Ross and it is with a heavy heart I hear about the loss of Lorraine. I had the pleasure to work with her as a 1:1 security guard at Fairfield Park.
During my time shared with her I learned about resilience, patience, empathy, faith, and friendship.
With Lorraine I learned more about how be both an advocate and a friend. Through conversations I learned more about the wonderful woman Lorraine was. Her history, how much she loved her family, and things she loved.
In the mornings or afternoons we’d find a sunny and quiet space to read the Bible or some of her own books. I remember a particular Victorian romance hard-cover she enjoyed us reading together very much.
I also cherish the times we sang in the hallways together Johnny Cash “I walk the line”, singing together without a care in the world. Her smile, on those bright days, could really light up a room, making anyone smile and sing along with her. Her music taste has definitely impacted my own, her playlist saved so I can share it with other residents I have the opportunity to assist.
During dark moments, however many there were, we prayed the rosary together hand in hand. In those moments we were united through faith and patience. I stood beside her and together we both found comfort in those prayers.
Lorraine taught me so much about how to be a good security guard and those lessons I will carry with me for the rest of my career.
I only got to meet her family a handful of times, but I could see how much they loved her. And I knew from our hours of conversations while doing our laps how much she loved them.
I am truly honoured to have had the opportunity to work with this wonderful woman. She touched my heart and helped me learn in ways I didn’t know I needed. Through her I am a better security guard and person.
My greatest coonsolances to her family. I hope that our paths cross again on a sunnier time. Again, I couldn’t be more proud to have met Lorraine. God bless.

Barb, Gary, David and all of the Van Damme family we send our condolences to you on your mothers passing. I remember your mom riding her bike through the park in Florida where they stayed for many years in the same park as my parents. They all enjoyed their time there and it was a great time to get together and visit (talk farming). Mom's are missed forever but the memories will live on in everyone. Thinking of you all

To the Van Damme Family
I will remember your wife, mom, granmother fondly., especially the first time I ever met her... "Oh, you are dating that boy from Dresden and you are from a farm too!" She was kind and generous. Having witnessed her children and grandchildren grow and succeed, she must have been filled with a great sense of pride.
Please accept our sincerest condolences.

Lorraine and I were cwl members together and any event we held, she was the first one to help clean and get burnt out lightbulbs replaced….asking the knights to bring the big ladder! For pies? Just ask Lorraine and she’d get her pie list and call! Magically 20 pies would appear! Miss u Lorraine and rest in peace my friend.
