Spence, Clifford James a resident of R.R. #3 Thamesville passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham at the age of 83. He was born in Howard Township son of the late William and Gertrude (Johnston) Spence. Clifford farmed all his life in Orford Township and worked at the Ridgetown College for a number of years. Beloved husband of Norma Jean (Maw) Spence. Loving father of Gerald & Margaret Spence and Gary & Bonnie Spence of R.R. #3 Thamesville. Proud grandpa of Jeffery & Ginelle, Gregory & Nicole, Crystal & Joel, Timothy & Shayna. Cherised great grandpa of Kaitlyn, Kenzie and Myah. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Janet Spence. Clifford is predeceased by sisters Marjorie & Bert Merritt, Audrey & John Parney; brother Robert L. & June Spence. The Spence family will receive family and friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria Street, Thamesville on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Al McIntyre officiating. Interment in Botany Cemetery at a later date due to weather conditions. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
