Wootton: Thelma Jean (McBride), a resident of R.R.# 3 Thamesville, passed away at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her father William McBride , mother Etta (nee Black) (McBride) Fletcher, step-father Clair Fletcher and a brother Vern McBride. Thelma was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Turin and St. James Presbyterian Church, Thamesville. Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Garnet Wootton (June 29, 2009). Loving mother of Donna and Don Strachan of Komoka, Doug and Dianne Wootton of R.R.# 3 Thamesville, Mary Wootton of Thamesville, John and Sandra Wootton of R.R.# 3 Thamesville ; devoted grandmother of Devonne, Denise, Christina, Jason, Laura, Jennifer, Derek (Allison), Karen, and Mike ; special great-grandmother of Gaven, Morgan, Tucker, Tori, Hayley, Sophie, Jake, and Madeline. Dear sister of Roy Fletcher. The Wootton family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville, on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:30pm with Rev. Anita Sipos officiating. Interment Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to the St. Jame’s Presbyterian Church, Thamesville or charity of one’s choice.
